Our elementary Montessori program begins in first grade and goes through fourth grade. When children enter first grade, they are entering what Dr Montessori called a new “plane of development”. The Montessori elementary environment provides opportunities for children to grow socially and academically. Language, math, science, culture, and other subject areas serve to challenge curiosity and result in discoveries about the world at large. As is true at every level of a Montessori education, and in conjunction with the use of Montessori materials, lessons are presented when they match developmental readiness and serve to increase learning. The Joy Montessori elementary program operates from 9:00am to 3:00pm. A variety of after school electives are offered over the course of the year, or students can stay in the Extended Care program.
Morning & Afternoon Care
Care for students is offered as early as 7:30AM and as late as 6:00PM. Families have two options for using Early Morning Care and Afternoon Care:
As part of the enrollment contract: Families may choose from one to five days per week of extended care for a set tuition.
Drop-in: With a note to the Office, children may stay from 3:00-6:00PM.
A variety of summer programs are available for Summer 2020!
